JOE BERENYI CAPTURES SILVER AT 2016 PARALYMPICS IN RIO

Joe Berenyi,  a highly decorated U. S. Paralympian, won a silver medal in cycling (3000m individual pursuit) at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio.

Joe's story is a remarkable one.  Back in the early 90s, he found success in a handful of amateur cycling races, but, in 1994, he put his bike away when a construction accident cost him his right arm and left kneecap.  Nearly 13 years later, Joe decided to join some of his neighbors for a ride and his love of cycling was reignited from there.  He only had 3 years of experience riding at the national level when he won 3 medals and set a world record at the 2012 Paralympics in London.  Since that time, Joe has participated in 4 World Championships, winning an additional 6 medals (4 gold, 2 silver),

Joe was named the USOC's men's Paralympic Athlete of the Year in 2015, and was nominated for an ESPY in '15 in the Best Male Athlete with a Disability category.

Lindstrom Chiropractic is proud to call Joe Berenyi a client.  He's an inspirational guy!

VIEW FROM THE TRAINING ROOM

Andy Wood, international sales director for Litecure LLC, recently interviewed Tim Macre, trainer for the NHLs'  Buffalo Sabres.

Macre is the first NHL trainer to use Litecure Class IV laser in the locker room.  Wood asked him how Litecure has helped him in the training room, and whether he would recommend it for other teams and/or sports.

Macre: The Litecure has been great this past season.  The effectiveness of this laser in reducing pain levels of foot and ankle contusions, AC join sprains and wrist sprains surprised even me.  The deep penetration of this unit even allowed for use on hip flexor and groin strains with excellend results.  Many of my players have identified the Litecure as a modality that truly helps them feel better and ask for it by name.

If you suffer from joint or muscle pain, Lindstrom Chiropractic invites you to learn how Litecure laser therapy can help you feel better,  just like hockey stars from the Buffalo Sabres.

DEEP TISSUE LASER THERAPY - A GAME-CHANGER FOR TREATMENT OF PAIN AND INFLAMMATION

Lindstrom Chiropractic now offers LiteCure Deep Tissue Laser Therapy, a proven, non-invasive technique using laser energy to help reduce pain and inflammation.  Laser therapy is effective in treating chronic conditions, acute conditions and post surgical pain.

Laser therapy can be safely used as an adjunct or replacement for pharmaceutical drugs.  This pain relief treatment is FDA cleared and enables patients to have an alternative to drugs and surgery.

Laser therapy treatments last between 5 and 10 minutes with patients usually seeing results in 3 to 5 treatments.  (Dr. Tom will develop a treatment plan that is optimal for your condition.)

Laser treatments must be administered directly to skin, as laser light cannot penetrate through layers of clothing.  You will feel a soothing warmth as the therapy is administered.

If you are dealing with chronic or acute pain and inflammation, contact Lindstrom Chiropractic to develop a laser treatment plan optimal for your condition.

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CHIROPRACTIC

How Does Chiropractic Work?

Chiropractic recognizes that humans are self-healing, self-regulating organisms controlled by their nervous systems.  Picture an unending flow of instructions from your brain, traveling down your spinal cord and out to every organ and tissue in your body.  Messages are then sent  back to your brain along the same pathways confirming whether or not your body is functioning properly.

A subluxation - improper position or motion of the moving bones of your spine - can interfere with this information exchange by irritating nerves and compromising affected organs and tissues.

Chiropractic adjustments address these underlying problem, restoring healthy mind/body communications.  Dr. Tom isn't happy unless your mind/body superhighway is functioning properly!

What's An Adjustment And Is It  Safe?

Chiropractic adjustments usually involve a quick thrust to restore position or add motion to spinal joints that aren't functioning properly.  And, yes, adjustments are remarkably safe.

In fact, chiropractic care often provides an extra layer of protection by avoiding drugs that may only mask the problem or risky surgery that may not be necessary.  Dr. Tom is also thoroughly trained to identify the rare patient for whom chiropractic care might be unsuited.

How Do You get Subluxations?

There are three basic causes of subluxations:  physical, emotional and chemical.

Common physical causes are slips and falls, accidents, repetitive motions and improper lifting.

Emotional causes can include grief, anger or fear.

Common chemical causes include alcohol, drugs, poor diet or even pollution.

How Do I Know If I Have A Subluxation?

Remember that mind/body superhighway?  This unique message system will usually tell you if you should seek chiropractic care.

However, some subluxations can be present before the warning signs appear, much like tooth decay or cancer.  If you have dealt with one or more of the basic causes of subluxation - physical, emotional or chemical - a chiropractic evaluation might be in order, even if your current pain is minimal.  A thorough examination can show the location and severity of any subluxations you may have.
